"asphalt that has been blazed by the sun"

on my journey to the beach, for some reason i decided to stop in the middle of the road on a hot, humid day. as i stopped the vehicle, there came the moment of me realizing how hot the asphalt was, even with some rubber slippers on. i can't imagine my bare feet touching the hot asphalt directly. i could have done it at that moment just to test my curiosity, but i chose not to.
